The afternoon seminar:

For this Ken Fulk panoramic visit, we will meet and greet at Ken Fulk headquarters.

There, we will first  be welcomed and will  visit Ken’s latest sensation, his dazzling new by appointment-only  shop, Ken Fulk Purveyor of the Extraordinary. The alluring and inspiring shop offers design, antiques,  garden decor, lifestyle, curiosities,   and Ken Fulk vintage finds, Ken’s favorite books, private collections,   art, accessories. Please note: Ken Fulk  has extended the offer of a designer discount of  ten per cent off for all attendees for purchases during Design Week..

We visit the Magic Factory studio and atelier, meet and have informal conversations with  KFI designers to discuss recent projects, and view images of recent projects, and study them.

We will carpool, walk and gather at St. Joseph’s Arts Foundation to be welcomed by Martin Strickland, the dynamic  director of St Joseph’s Arts Society.

On view at St. Joseph’s Arts Society for all attendees, is:

The dynamic new  FABRICATIONS show which  brings together Bay Area–based artists from The Space Program San Francisco residency who work with raw, reclaimed, and unconventional materials—reshaping, repurposing, and reinterpreting them to create meaning.

Through sculpture, painting, fiber arts, ceramics, video, and mixed media, these artists push the boundaries of material-based practices and offer fresh perspectives on our relationship with both the built and natural environments. Their works uncover the personal and cultural histories embedded in material itself, revealing how what we create—and what we cast aside—reflects who we are and what we value.

Presented at Saint Joseph’s Arts Society, this exhibition also encourages reflection on material consumption and sustainability, emphasizing the environmental consequences of production and disposal. By giving renewed life to overlooked or discarded matter, the artists in FABRICATIONS invite us to question what we take for granted and to recognize the power of art to reimagine place, identity, and the future.

Participating artists include: Kristin Bauer, Maria A. Guzmán Capron, Julia Goodman, Dana Hemenway, Hughen/Starkweather, Amy Nathan, Rachelle Reichert, Laurel Roth Hope, Charlene Tan, Henna Vainio, Amber Jean Young, and Connie Zheng.
