Design Futures: A Conversation with SFMOMA Curator Joseph Becker

June 4, 2025 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join us for an inspiring evening with Joseph Becker, curator of architecture and design at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), as he shares insights into the evolving landscape of design through the lens of curatorial practice.

This intimate conversation will explore how design is documented, exhibited, and interpreted within the museum context—from emerging technologies and sustainable materials to the cultural shifts influencing form and function. Joseph will reflect on recent exhibitions, acquisitions, and their vision for the future of design at SFMOMA.

Whether you’re a practicing designer, student, or simply design-curious, this event offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from leading voices shaping the public dialogue around architecture and design in the Bay Area and globally.

Moderated by San Francisco Design Week and Design Bay Area CEO, Dawn Zidonis.
