The Miller House

The Miller House is a multi-use venue situated amongst the grapevines of Frank Family Vineyards in Calistoga, California. The venue hosts individual parties of guests for tastings and larger groups for events, equipped with a full kitchen and amenities. The Miller House marries the warmth of a private residence with the functionality of a commercial event space. Designed by architecture firm Backen & Backen, under the direction of partner John Taft, The Miller House signifies a new standard in winery design in its intentional design approach, materials used, and attention to the surrounding environment. The 2,300 sq. ft structure has walls of floor-to-ceiling bi-folding glass doors, offering a direct connection to the vineyards and surrounding mountains. Taft intentionally designed the simple barn structure to not visually stand out, but rather cohabitate with the existing land, vineyards, and other buildings on the property.
