We will have visionaries from Designing Justice + Designing Spaces\, Recidiviz\, ideas42’s (Un)Warranted initiative\, CROP Organization\, Dignifi\, and Checkr who are using human-centered approaches to dismantle barriers and create pathways to opportunity. \nEnjoy a snack\, drink\, and connect with mission-driven designers. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to witness how design methodologies are being applied to one of society’s most pressing challenges. \nSchedule\n5:30-6:00pm: Welcome drinks and snacks \n6:00-6:45pm: Panel \n6:45-7:00pm Q&A \nModerated by Checkr’s Director of Product Design\, Rebecca Rabison\, our panel will bring together criminal justice reform design leaders across the system: \nPrevention & Early Intervention\nDesigning Justice + Designing Spaces – Garrett Jacobs\, Director of Project Evaluation & Research\, will speak to how architecture can help prevent incarceration through community-centered design \nIdeas42 – Anne Stotler\, Principal Behavioral Designer\, will discuss how behavioral science can improve court date communications and prevent missed court dates\, a leading cause of warrants and jail. \nDuring Incarceration\nRecidiviz – Thomas Graham\, Product Manager at Recidiviz\, will share how data and technology can improve information access and system outcomes for justice-impacted people. \nReentry & Employment\nCROP Organization – Alexis Bustos\, Director of Learning and Partnerships\, will speak to training formerly incarcerated individuals in UI/UX to help them secure meaningful employment. \nDignifi – Danny Yoon\, Founder of Dignifi and CROP Product Design graduate\, will share how they’re bringing reentrants\, service providers\, and policy makers into one ecosystem to fix a fractured reentry system \nCheckr – Melanie Cernak\, Staff Product Designer will share Checkr’s approach to fair chance hiring and how they’re reducing background checks as a barrier to employment \n  \nWhy attend?\nThis event aims to show how design thinking can dismantle systems of inequality.
